The numbers on our stock pages, explained. Each entry names the formula, shows live figures for names we ingest, and cites SGX, MAS or IRAS when the rule is theirs.
This is a reference, not a blog. We do not write savings-account roundups, brokerage reviews, or licensed Buy/Hold notes. If a number is missing on a stock page, the learn page says why we dashed it.
How to read
The quote
Last price
Last price is the most recent SGX sale we have stored. It is not the price you can deal at right now.
Volume
Session volume is shares traded today. Average volume is the mean of the last 20 sessions. Both are share counts, not lots.
52-week range
The 52-week high and low are the extremes of last prices we keep. They are not a forecast of the next high or low.
Dash
A dash means we do not have that input. It is not zero, and it is not a hidden estimate.
Valuation
Market cap
Market cap is the SGX screener value of the listed equity, in Singapore dollars. It is size, not cheap or expensive.
Price-to-earnings
P/E is last price divided by earnings per share. It is a ratio, not a verdict.
Price-to-book
P/B is last price divided by book value per share. For the three local banks it is the first valuation look.
Earnings per share
EPS on the quote is diluted earnings per share copied from the newest SGX income statement. Missing or non-positive EPS means we dash P/E and payout.
Dividends
Dividend yield
Dividend yield is annual dividend per share divided by last price, shown as a percent.
Dividend per share
Indicated DPS is the screener's last quoted rate. TTM DPS is cash from SGX corporate actions in the last 365 Singapore days.
Payout ratio
Payout ratio is trailing dividend per share divided by earnings per share.
Ex-dividend date
From the ex-dividend date, a buyer is not entitled to the dividend that just went ex. The seller keeps it.
How these pages are written
Definitions are written by hand against the SGX public board, IRAS dividend rules, and MAS REIT leverage notes. Worked examples are not textbook $50 stocks. They are the featured codes in our catalog, loaded from the same API as the quote pages.
We do not generate a glossary of every finance term on the internet. If a label is not on a featured stock page yet, it does not get an entry. How we source data is the companion to this hub.
